Fridakus over Chili Days!

Hopefully you are in the habit of associating Fridays with haikus by now. The cohort and I have had an ambitious week of
deadlines and madness; but our insanity has prevailed. Nashville is over-run with road construction and walking people.
Some of which have destinations and others of which have none but the passing of time til the next.

Summer Closes Its Eyes
Autumn days, burnt orange
The sun squints tomorrow dim
Warmth drains away soon.

Seasons Sleep
Pitch forks, orange leaves, fall
The sown harvest now reaped
Sleep earth, rest til Spring.

The Future Hunts the Present
Through the season comes
The math of time ending days
Of mortal products.

...and on to the other things Friday holds for us; delicious recipes of suptuous delights.
You know how much I love to do two things at once. There's nothing like coming home on a cool afternoon
to a delicious smelling home. Crockpots are the best!

Friday Fixins on Thursday

This day slips by with many thing to accomplish — not unlike three days prior. Nonetheless, I do this ahead of time due to other ideas concerning tomorrow. It's sweltering outside and that can be taxing. I am very glad I watered my landscape flowers heavily this morning. It seems like the warm weather is making the marigolds and roses go wild.

Here is an extremely easy crockpot recipe that you can just put on and go do something else only to return to a mouth-watering aroma upon return. Actually I like the name too, Sunshine Drum Sticks; that’s just cool for so many reasons.

Sunshine Drum Sticks

INGREDIENTS:
12 drumsticks
6 oz. frozen orange juice concentrate
3 Tbs honey
2 Tbs quick tapioca
1 small can of green chilies chopped
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 cup finely chopped onion

DIRECTIONS:
Wash and place chicken in crockpot. Combine
remaining ingredients and pour over chicken.
Cook low 5 hours.
